Shanna Stryker, MD

Community and Patient Engagement Lead, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine

Dr Stryker is an assistant professor with dual appointments in the Departments of Family and Community Medicine and Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience.

Her role is to guide incorporation of patient and family feedback into ongoing improvement initiatives at partner primary care offices, and to engage community partners that serve Ohioans who seek care outside of the primary care offices which are receiving coaching and guidance from our academic hub.

As a dual boarded Family Physician and Psychiatrist, she provides clinical care within a local Federally Qualified Community Health Center which serves the LGBTQ+ community and others living with or at risk of HIV infection and has expertise in trauma-informed care. As a researcher, she uses participatory methods to study health disparities and action-oriented research to co-create health systems innovations that improves access to meaningful and relevant care. Dr. Stryker also uses implementation science methods to evaluate and guide the introduction of evidence-based practices into real-world settings.
